To see you available shares on <host>

smbclient -L <host>

To mount a share – a shared folder you need to mount every folder on the host. You cannot simply connect to the host and see all shared folders – strangly enough.

mount -t smbfs -o username=<username>[,password=<password>] //<host>/<share> /mnt/point

You might want to install

sudo aptitude install smbclient smbfs
